On August 1-2, the 2009 Dream Cup was held in Suzuka, Japan, and JTEKT participated in this solar car race as in past years. The biggest improvement JTEKT made this time to its car was in the drive motor. It determined the optimal rotational speed and torque, and staff members rewound the motor coiling by hand. The event was carried out in rainy conditions with a slippery track surface, poor visibility, and little energy generation. |

Nonetheless, JTEKT's car was able to compete with no trouble thanks to excellent energy management. As a result, JTEKT finished 4th in the Dream Class, the highest category, its best finish ever! It was not far behind the winning car and hopes to stand on the awards stage next year among the top finishers. |
